Standing out among your competitors is crucial to maintaining a successful business. While it is important to follow and create new trends and products, it is equally important to understand how to strategically promote, gain traffic to your website, and ultimately acquire sales. To help with this, we’ve compiled a list of six steps to promote a successful new product launch.

  1. Finding Your Target Audience

Understanding who will likely use your product is key to establishing which social platforms, forums and/or partnerships you’ll want to utilize to promote your product launch and can provide insight on where they engage online. Finding out who your potential customers will be and what they are currently using can also give you the opportunity to illustrate how your product will be different. 

  1. Revamp Your Website/Landing Page Around Your New Product

Once you’ve found your target audience, you’ll want to direct them to your new product. Besides having your website positioned for successful SEO, creating a landing page around this product launch with graphics and shareable content of the product will attract customers to want to know more and even share it with their friends. Ensuring your website is mobile-friendly, has clear and concise order details and doesn’t have webpage loading delays will give your customers easy access to browse and order your products. Including an “About Us” section as well as your businesses’ shipping and return policy lets the customer know upfront who you are and what they can expect.

  1. Build Suspense Through Social Media

Begin to build suspense in the weeks leading up to your product launch. Releasing unique posts with popular hashtags on social media platforms is a fun way to countdown your product’s release and keeps the launch date in your customer’s minds. Adding a link to pre-order on your posts promoting your new product may also entice the customer to pre-order. Organizing a pre-launch giveaway/contest for customers and/or social media influencers is another great way to build suspense and get the customers eager to try/purchase your product.

  1. Utilize Email Marketing

Email Marketing is one of the most common ways to distribute product information and gain customer feedback. Putting together a quality email list that will target a wide range of consumers is a great way to build customer relationships and drive traffic to your website. Personalizing these email campaigns will help to make the customer feel special and want to support your business.

  1. Run Sponsored Ads

Create an attractive post highlighting your product with a Call to Action on your sponsored ads that will stop users from scrolling past your post. Your Call to Action should compel the customer to like, comment, share and even purchase your product.

  1. Have a Product Launch Party

Hosting a product launch party is a great way to get friends, family, employees and customers to celebrate and learn more about your new product. This is also a great way to answer any lingering questions and/or concerns about your product and share more about your product’s value and purpose to its customers. A product launch party is also a way for users to see this product up close and can help to build anticipation on its release.

The launch party may be over but, the work to promote your product is not.
