Inbound marketing is a strategy used to draw in potential customers by focusing on attracting leads through company created content. This is a great strategy to use if you want to drive new prospects to your website, increase conversions and increase brand awareness. Below, we have outlined 7 inbound marketing tactics that will help turn prospects into customers.

Tactic 1: Create a Blog

Creating a blog is a great way to share valuable and educational content about the field of business you’re in. By offering potential customers informative content they will be more likely to trust your brand and buy your product. According to HubSpot, businesses that prioritize blogging are 13x more likely to get a positive ROI.

Tactic 2: Incorporate Infographics

In the fast paced world we live in, people don’t always have time for long written content.  An easy way around this is providing your customers with aesthetically pleasing infographics. This will ensure your readers still get all the information you want to share, while not having to spend too much time reading. With social media allowing bloggers and marketers the ability to share and repost images with the tap of a finger, it will be a lot easier for your visual content to be spread. Make sure your infographic stands out to improve your chances of it being shared.

Tactic 3: Create a Whitepaper
The content of a white paper can vary from industry to industry, but what they all have in common is the in-depth knowledge they provide on a particular topic. Your whitepaper should have a more serious tone and should include more research than a blog or ebook. On your website you can offer your whitepaper in exchange for contact information, such as emails, that you will be able to use for email marketing campaigns in the future.

Tactic 4: Create an eBook
Similar to a whitepaper, eBooks offer you the chance to showcase your expertise in the field you are in. Your eBook should be featured on your website, to give you the chance to ask your viewers for their contact information in exchange for the ebook. This is another great opportunity for you to build your email list for future leads.

Tactic 5: Start a Webinar
Webinars are online meetings held in real time that give you the chance to connect with viewers all over the world. During a webinar you can conducts polls and survey, share desktop view, and answer questions from viewers. You can use this tactic to add a “human” side to your content and give your audience the chance to get to know, and interact with, the real you.

Tactic 6: Create a Podcast
Like webinars, podcasts allow you to attach personality to your brand. Nowadays, podcasts are more popular than ever, so use this opportunity to create content your customers will be able to enjoy and connect with. By posting your podcast on websites such as Spotify, iHeartRadio and Apple Podcasts, you’re multiplying the number or people that will be exposed to your podcast, and ultimately your business.

Tactic 7: Start a Video Series
Video marketing is growing quickly to become the most effective and engaging type of content.  Use this to your advantage by repurposing content you already have into a more easily comprehensible format. A potential customer may not have time to view your webinar or listen to your podcast, but they will likely have a minute or two to spare for a captivating video. Make sure to post your video series to YouTube, as well as your website, to generate the most views possible.

It’s important to understand that implementing any of these tactics incorrectly can result in not only the failure to acquire leads but can actually tarnish your reputation and brand image.
