One top priority for small business owners is to increase their website traffic in order to grow their business.  But how can you turn these website visitors into customers?  We have put together a list of 6 simple ways you can tweak your website that are guaranteed to boost your conversions.

1. Revise Your Call to Actions

In order to make your CTAs more enticing to click, it’s important to make them stand out from the rest of the website page.  Try to use different colors for your CTAs or create unique CTA buttons.

2. Reduce the Amount of Options on Your Webpage

According to a study conducted by Sheena Iyengar and Mark Lepper, humans are more likely to result in conversion if they are presented with less options.  In this study, a large group shoppers were divided into two smaller groups. The first group were given 24 different jam options while the second group were only given 6 options.  As a result the second group had ten times more conversions than the first group, proving that humans tend to do better with less options.

3. Make Your Website Faster

Research has shown that speeding up website loading time from 8 seconds to 2 seconds can increase conversion rate by 74%.  In order to make your website faster we suggest compressing images, reducing file sizes, and enable caching. This increase in speed will help secure your website create more conversions.

4. Use Trust Seals on Your Website

Trust seals are a great way for your small business to let your customers know your website is secure and their information will not get out.  Trust seals are very easy to obtain and could double your sales and conversion rate. Try setting up trust seals with companies such as McAfee, Verisign, BBB, or TRUSTe.

5. Reduce Cart Abandonment

The number one reason for cart abandonment is hidden prices and fees.  Make sure to factor in extra fees in the product cost so your customers aren’t caught by surprise.  If you don’t already have a follow up system in place for people who have abandoned their cart you should consider creating one to encourage the customer to come back and finish their purchase.

6. Choose Exciting Visuals

The human brain is able to process images much more quickly than it is able to process text.  Because of this, you should consider updating the visuals on your website to make them more exciting to look at.  Using photos with humans in the image has been shown to increase conversions rates by 95%. Another type of image you should experiment with is 360 rotating images, as they have been found to increase website conversion rates by 27%.
